Dropdown menu

Hello

I have dropdown menus and i’d like to cancel a link.
i’ll try to explain
Lets say may menu item is called : ABOUT
and i have drop down links on hover : About 1 ; about 2 ; about 3

I still can click on ABOUT, which is pointless.
When i don’t enter url on ABOUT in the menu it work but my pointer turns into a text selector

How can avoid that ?
